Set photos from the first day of filming ‘City of Bones.’ Clockwise: Jamie as Jace, Lily as Clary, Jemima as Isabelle, and Kevin as Alec.
Here you can see seraph blades (over Jace’s shoulder and on Alec’s back):

And Clary just looking fiery and awesome:
And Robbie Sheehan with a fan (though I don’t think he shot anything today)

In fact, they don’t — none of the Lightwood family besides Isabelle and Alec are in City of Bones. They are in Idris for the Accords and don’t return until the beginning of City of Ashes. So it’s good that they’re not cast. That would have meant changing the story a lot.

Since I started doing nails in 2007. I just fell in love with art you can put on nails. Here is my nail art “bambam” lol reminds me of the Flintstones! Enjoy more to come.
Hodge is also a really complicated character. He’s not entirely bad, not entirely good. He’s a brilliant man led down a bad path a long time ago and he can’t turn back, but he does love those kids he tutored. So if you’ve seen either Mad Men or Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows (in which he was…
Jocelyn is a really fun character to write. She’s overprotective (but for a reason) and often really unyielding and unsympathetic, but she’s also a heroine who saved the world from Valentine, endured a lot of loss, and can execute some pretty badass moves. Moral ambiguity is always fun to play and…
yes it is MAGNUS!!!
So after an exhaustive search during which many, many hot Asian men were considered by the casting director (her job, so painful), the director, and the seventy-odd other dudes who have to sign off on this kind of thing, I can confidently tell you that our Magnus may be …

In unexpected week-end news, Constantin and Screen Gems have signed on two actors to play Valentine’s right-hand henchpeople Blackwell and Pangborn in The Mortal Instruments movie.
Robert Maillet you may remember as the giant guy whacking Robert Downey Jr with a mallet in Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows.
Kevin Durand you may recall from I Am Number Four
I would not want either of these guys mad at me so I’m just going to say that they seem very henchpersonish to me and I am excited to have them on board the project (and be rounding out the cast.)
ETA: Okay I feel really stupid for not mentioning this. Maillet is Blackwell, and Durand is Pangborn.
